A flexible pillar of 33 bones that holds you upright, lets you move, and shields the spinal cord — wired to the whole body through the nerve roots.
The skeleton, discs, spinal cord, nerves and vessels are real 3D anatomy of one adult body, adapted from the open Z-Anatomy / BodyParts3D atlas. The individual low-back roots (L2–S3) and the injury markers are drawn onto that anatomy by Spine Atlas. Click any vertebra to light every named nerve its root feeds, out to the hands or feet. Hover any bone or nerve to name it. Use Inside view to make the bones translucent and look in at the cord, discs and nerve roots. Open an injury — or load your report under Report — and the affected level lights up from the inside, with a plain-language guide to where the symptoms are felt.
Structures (toggle on the model)
Full skeleton — over 200 named bones (hover to name, click for a fact)
Intervertebral discs — cushions between bodies
Spinal cord, dura/CSF sac & brain
Nerves — coloured by the roots they carry
Cervical roots → neck, shoulders, arms & hands
Thoracic roots → chest and abdominal wall
Lumbar roots → groin and front of the thigh and shin
Sacral roots → back of the leg, foot & pelvis
Cranial nerves (head and face) · sympathetic chain
Arteries, veins & heart · spinal ligaments · back muscles
Nerves and vessels are drawn thicker than life so they can be seen at whole-body scale. Which roots feed each named nerve follows standard textbook values; people vary.
Toggle the Body outline for context. Click any vertebra to trace its nerve out to where it goes; open an injury and the compressed nerve lights red on top of its region color, with a panel on where the symptoms are felt.
Injury severity key
Mild — usually settles with conservative care
Moderate — often needs active treatment
Severe — significant, may need surgery
Critical — emergency / high neurological risk
